RIBA Workshop: “Opening Up Architecture”
In 2023, we had the pleasure of supporting the educational workshop “Opening Up Architecture”, hosted by RIBA in central London. The free event welcomed 15 to 19 year olds interested in sustainable architecture practices to attend, engage, ask questions and learn more about the industry, such as Passivhaus concepts and retrofit projects.
We led a portion of the interactive workshop, in which a collection of our Project Bunny Rabbit boxes sourced from our open-access Box Library were transformed into a modular plywood tree. The giant timber structure was assembled and decorated with hand cut “protest leaves” by the team of enthusiastic and curious young people, which offered the future architects a hands-on and thought-provoking experience of circular construction principles.
Beyond box building, there was also poster making and lots of interesting discussions about innovative, planet-friendly ways of creating the built environment.
Thank you to RIBA Youth Forum for organising the event, and for Levitt Bernstein’s contributions!
